Durham, N.C. (Jan. 2008) -- Digitalabel has hired Barbara Jackson as its customer service administrator responsible for managing orders from entry through production to final shipment.
Working closely with Peter Schambs, the company’s national product and sales manager, Jackson helps ensure customers
receive high-quality, accurate, fast turn-around labels for customized, short-run and prototype packaging projects.
Jackson draws from 20 years experience in global logistics and supply chain management. For more than a decade she worked with Nortel Networks, a North Carolina-based Fortune 100 company, where she managed worldwide logistics and customer care including the development of multinational
training programs and a global returns packaging program.
Throughout her career, Jackson has been involved with international trading logistics and supply chain management. In addition to Nortel, her previous employers include New York-based Wilbur-Ellis Company and the Frabar Sales Company. Most recently, Jackson worked at Beltmann Group Inc. in Morrisville, N.C., where she facilitated domestic customer service programs resulting in a 50% increase in client satisfaction. Along with increasing customer satisfaction, Jackson says, “Establishing and maintaining cost-effective programs are my specialty. In sales, you want to rack up numbers. In logistics, you want to bring them down.” She adds that an ability to “think backwards also is a valuable skill when short lead times and quick turnarounds are the norm.”
Schambs agrees, “To be successful, packaging must arrive when you want it, where you want it and at a competitive price. Digitalabel partners with each customer to coordinate the pricing, printing, warehousing and distribution of their packaging to keep the supply chain running smoothly.”
